TRAFFIC: M1 standstill after lorry jackknifes

Motorists are being warned about heavy traffic on the M1 in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire this morning (December 8) caused by a broken down lorry.

The lorry jackknifed, forcing two lanes of the northbound carriageway to be closed between J29 for Chesterfield and J30 for Worksop.

This has also caused a back-log of traffic on the A617 in Derbyshire and the A616 in Barlborough.

Commuters should expect severe delays.
