Toby Perkins MP backs Spireites in bid to win money for bowel cancer fund
Labour MP for Chesterfield Toby Perkins visited his local William Hill to place a charity bet on Sheffield United and Chesterfield to win this weekend.
Both teams kick off their seasons in the Championship and National League this weekend and if Sheffield United and Chesterfield can record victories against Swansea City and Ebbsfleet United respectively, Toby will win £309 for the Bobby Moore Fund.

Hide AdToby visited the William Hill shop to place his bet and to support the company’s campaign to raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund over the summer period.
In the last three years, William Hill have contributed £214,000 through their partnership with the Fund, which is supporting research into a nationwide bowel cancer screening programme.
William Hill colleagues and customers donated £2 to wear their favourite football shirt to work for the Fund’s Football Shirt Friday campaign in April and collection tins will be now in shops for further donations until the end of August.
Toby was also able to support the shop’s collection for KitAid. Colleagues across the area have donated football kit which be distributed to underprivileged communities in the developed world.

Hide AdToby said: “This is a great initiative that is not just about raising funds, but also about raising awareness of bowel cancer and improve screening rates, so hopefully the disease can be diagnosed and treated as early as possible. Fingers crossed that the Spireites and the Blades have winning starts to the season and raise a bit more money for the charity.”
