Thieves have made off with vintage items from a garden in a Derbyshire village.

Sometime between 1.15pm and 3.45pm on Tuesday, February 9, thieves entered the garden of a property on Longway Bank in Whatstandwell and stole a number of garden ornaments - including a vintage style water pump, a milking bucket and two milk churns.

PCSO Sue Lester from the Wirksworth and Middleton Safer Neighbourhood Team has issued an appeal for information about the thefts.

She said: “The items were particularly heavy so the thieves would have needed a vehicle to steal the property. I would ask local residents in the area to contact us if they saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area on Tuesday afternoon.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PCSO Sue Lester on 101, quoting crime number 5990/16.
