Tansley pub reopens after £125,000 refurbishment

A pub has reopened and welcomed its customers with a fresh new look after a £125,000 refurbishment.

The landlady of The Tavern at Tansley, Louise Thompson and her business partner Simon Wilkinson put up the cash for the refurbishment, along with owners Punch Taverns.

Louise, who has been at the pub for two months, said: “We have worked with designers to put our ideas and vision forward and they have fully grasped our vision so we can’t wait to see the end product.

“We wanted to take on this beautiful pub as we believed that it had enormous potential to do well with this fantastic location, and with this investment, we feel it can really do well.”

There has been a full ground floor redecoration including new flooring, new furniture and fully revamped toilets.

On the outside, the signage scheme has been adapted to suit the new look and feel of the interior.

The Tavern is also offering a host of new food and drink offers.

The pub will be open from 9am for breakfast and morning coffee, with a lunch menu, an early–bird menu and an A La Carte menu on offer from 12pm. From 5pm until 9pm the evening A La Carte menu will be served, and the pub will be sticking to its roots by serving fresh food from local suppliers.

The bar will also be increasing its cask ales range alongside the introduction of other guest ales and craft lagers. These will be partnered by a new wine menu.

One other key addition is the three themed letting rooms situated above the pub. The three rooms include a garden themed room, a beach themed room and a luxurious room, all of which have been fully revamped as part of the refurbishment.
