Suspects in court after police carry out drug warrant in Chesterfield

Detective Inspector John Roddis said: “We are involved in a long-term effort to reduce the amount of drugs available in the area and arrest those responsible for exploiting vulnerable people who have a dependency on illegal drugs.

“During the last few weeks we have arrested more than 30 people who we suspected were involved in this type of crime.

“We’re also working closely with our partners in the local councils, public health and other agencies to support drug users who are trying to kick the habit.”

On Thursday, October 22, officers carried out a warrant at premises in Harehill Road in Chesterfield and arrested seven people. Four were charged with drug-related offences and three were released on police bail while further enquiries are made.

Thomas England, 21, of Wybourn House Road, Sheffield, was charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug – crack cocaine – and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

Adam Eyre, 20, of Bowden Wood Crescent, Sheffield, was charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug – crack cocaine.

Sue Shaw, 44, of Harehill Road, Chesterfield, was charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A – crack cocaine – possession of another controlled Class A drug and permitting the use of premises for supply of crack cocaine.

All three appeared at Chesterfield magistrates’ court on Saturday, October 24.

Julie Shaw, 48, of Grangewood Road, Chesterfield, was charged with attempting to supply a Class A drug – heroin. She was bailed to appear at court on Friday, November 13.
