The load is a number of huge brewery drums destined for the Molson Coors site in Burton, and will be travelling there on the evening of Thursday, June 1.

Officers regularly work with haulage firms to help escort them safely through areas where they might need our help.

This particular delivery will travel along the A50 from Doveridge, then along the A516 towards the A38.

At this stage, we will be closing the northbound carriageway of the A38 because the convoy will be travelling south along it from Egginton to Clay Mills, due to its size.

Although we know this will cause a disruption for motorists, we’re doing it so road users are safe while the convoy approaches its destination.

If you are planning to travel in that area at about 8pm on June 1, please expect delays or plan alternative routes to avoid the A38.
