Stolen car that crashed near Chesterfield had 11-year-old girl trapped inside

A man has been arrested after a stolen car crashed near Chesterfield- with an 11-year-old girl strapped inside.

Officers were called to Westhill Drive, Mansfield at around 8.45pm last night (Monday, January 22).

A 33-year-old man was later arrested after the car crashed at Palterton, near Chesterfield.

The child is safe and well, a police spokesman confirmed.
