Step back in time

People are invited to experience wartime life as Crich Tramway Village hosts its annual 1940’s event.

All this weekend, the village will be reliving the period, complete with military and civilian re-enactors, air-raid warnings and the sound of low flying aircraft, and even Mr Churchill will be paying a visit to provide a boost in morale. Plus, if you dress up in 1940’s clothes there is a reduced admission charge.

Doug Kightley, event organiser, said: “The 1940s weekend promises to be a feast of nostalgia for those who lived through the war and an entertaining and enlightening insight into war-time conditions for those too young to remember. Veterans from all regiments will be in attendance willing to share their stories”
