A spokesman for North East Derbyshire District Council said: “We apologise for any inconvenience the delay in opening the refurbished centre may have caused and hope that you will enjoy using the full range of facilities available to you.”

The facility will have extended 50+ station gym, a new group exercise studio, soft play area, cafe and new ‘village’ change’ facilities, plus a 25metre swimming pool which will incorporate public swim, inflatable fun sessions and swimming lessons. Opening hours have also been extended to provide people with more opportunities to get fit and stay healthy.

Public swim is available today and Sunday this weekend and then the full pool timetable will start from Monday.
