SOUTH NORMANTON: Supermarket fire

Fire fighters were called to South Normaton after a blaze broke out in a supermarket.

Crews tackled the fire at Co-op Food store on High Street, at around 1am on Wednesday, July 31.

A large quantity of rubbish was well alight outside the shop and the fire got in to the air duct of the store’s office.

Crews reported 18 metres by 18 metres were alight in the single storey supermarket.

Western Power was also called out after the blaze spread to the electrical room.

Fire fighters left the scene at around 2am.

A spokesman for the store said everything was up and running and it was open as normal.
