SNOW UPDATE: Peak roads reopen after morning snowfall
Buxton residents awoke to discover heavy snow this morning (Tuesday) marking the first major snowfall of the year.
The town, notorious for blizzards and flurries, is now bracing itself for a late winter freeze. Heavy snow is forecast all day, with a break between 1pm and 4pm, and temperatures are expected to drop to -1 degrees from 6pm.
2.30PM TRAVEL UPDATE: The following roads have reopened and are now passable with care: A57 Snake Pass, A54 Congleton Road, A537 Cat & Fiddle, A515 Ashbourne to Buxton.
