A second public exhibition for residents to view fracking plans in a Derbyshire village is to be held next month.

Chemical firm Ineos wants to carry out tests on privately-owned land off Bramley Moor Lane in Marsh Lane, near Eckington, in north-east Derbyshire.

The industry giant has been told by Derbyshire County Council it does not need to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

Campaigners held a protest march at the first public exhibition hosted by Ineos back in January.

A notice posted through letter boxes in the area reads: “As part of our public consultation process ahead of submitting a planning application members of your household are invited to attend a public drop-in exhibition to learn more about our proposal to drill a vertical coring well on land off Bramley Moor Lane, Marsh Lane.”

The exhibition takes place on Thursday, April 6 between 2pm and 7.30pm at Marsh Lane Community Centre on Main Road.
