School closed to mourn ‘tragic passing’ of Ripley teaching assistant Emily
A Ripley school will close its doors tomorrow to mourn the death of staff member Emily Whittle.
A teaching assistant at St John’s Church of England Primary School, Emily tragically passed away two weeks ago.
Her funeral will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, October 20) and the school on Dannah Street will be closed all day.
A statement posted on the school website reads: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Miss Whittle’s family at this very sad time.
“Thank you for your support.”
