Community Concern Erewash was one of the benefactors, last year, receiving more than £240,000 for a project aiming to improve the quality of life for vulnerable members of the community.

Ilkeston’s Ladywood Primary school and Bennerley Fields specialist speech and language college also benefited almost £20,000 from National Lottery funding.

John Barrowman who presented last year’s National Lottery award show said: “Everyone in Erewash who plays the National Lottery should be proud of the difference their money is making to the local community.”

He added: “The Awards are a great way of celebrating. If you know of a lottery funded organisation that deserves to be nominated we want to hear from you.”
