Police name young man who died in Chesterfield crash

Police have named a young man who died following a collision in Chesterfield.

Ross Beardsley, from Newbold, died in the crash on Malvern Road at around 4.30pm on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Beardsley on social media – and people have sent their condolences to his loved ones.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this distressing time.

“Officers are continuing to make enquiries and they would still like to hear from anyone who hasn’t yet come forward who may have witnessed the collision, or with any dashcam footage from the area around that time.

“If you think you can help please contact us, quoting reference number 21*188745.”

Following the incident, a woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

On Wednesday, police said the incident involved a car which did not stop.
