Items taken in the thefts include: a hanging basket, lanterns and a
watering can.

Officers are now looking to speak to an elderly woman who was allegedly seen in the same area the night before, putting items into the boot of her car.

Police Community Support Officer Anna Welberry from the Shipley, Smalley and Horsley Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Some of the items taken from across the local area, especially from the cemetery, have huge sentimental value to residents.

“Local officers will be stepping up uniformed patrols at key times and working alongside St Clement’s Church staff and volunteers in a bid to catch those responsible.
