Police issue warning after thieves target vehicles

Police are urging van drivers to be vigilant and remove valuables from their vehicles after thieves stole tools from two overnight.

The offenders forced their way into a Citroen Berlingo and Ford Transit, both of which were parked in Netherfield Road, Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Power tools were stolen from both vans, which were broken into between 11pm on Thursday, April 7, and 8am on Friday, April 8.

Two Makita drills, a Bosch drill, a Makita portable radio and two Makita batteries were taken from the Transit, while a range of tools were taken from the Berlingo.

Police are urging motorists to remove any valuables from their vehicles to deter thieves from targeting them.

Witnesses or anyone with information on the two thefts should call PC John Keys on 101, quoting crime reference 15270/16.
