Police hope to tackle rising biker deaths
From Good Friday, police will be riding popular routes on a new Honda Fireblade bike, loaned by Honda, to patrol for dangerous motorcyclists.
However, officers will be engaging with the biker community at meeting points to encourage riders to take responsibility for their own safety.

Hide AdHead of Roads Policing, Chief Inspector Steve Wilson, said: “We don’t want bikers to be caught out. We want them to come to our county and enjoy our roads but do so sensibly and safely.
“Motorcyclists continue to be over represented in the casualty figures and too many riders are becoming involved in serious collisions, many of which are avoidable.”
In 2012, there were 117 motorcyclists killed or seriously injured on Derbyshire roads. That is compared to 141 the previous year.
