Police give out security advice at school fair

Police in the Chesterfield area have been meeting local families at a junior school fair.

Officers from the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood visited Spire Junior School on Derby Road for the event on Saturday, July 5.

As well as giving people the chance to meet and chat to the team, there was also an opportunity for youngsters to look around a police car and to try on parts of a police uniform.

Officers also handed out free crime prevention equipment, including UV property marking pens and special one-way security screws for sheds, and were on hand to provide advice and information.

PCSO Emma Fisher of the Heanor and Loscoe Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We’re always try to get to as many community events as we possibly can as it is a great opportunity for us to meet local residents, and to get to know youngsters at the school.

“We also had the chance to speak to parents and offer valuable advice and crime prevention information.”
