The hunt is on for more volunteer committee members and a chairperson for Crimestoppers.

Councillor Alan Charles, Police and Crime Commissioner, said: “The committee helps to tackle criminality on so many fronts, including giving valuable support to campaigns like modern slavery and child sexual exploitation. Encouraging people to call Crimestoppers anonymously with information about crime leads to 20 people being arrested and charged every day.”

The committee’s new chairperson will need the experience to deliver proposals and presentations to a senior level, have highly developed interpersonal and networking skills and be able to liaise with partners in the statutory, corporate and media fields. Specific roles for new committee members could involve their own particular skills, such as in social media.
