Police appeal over Baslow and Beeley thefts

Police are appealing for information and issuing advice after power tools and a quad bike were stolen from outbuildings in Baslow and Beeley.

Sometime between 3pm on Tuesday, November 24 and 10am on Friday, November 27, thieves forced open the door to a barn on Over Lane in Baslow and made off with a red Honda quad bike and a quantity of power tools.

The offenders also climbed onto the roof of the barn and removed the slates.

Power tools including specialised MIG welding equipment, a Black and Decker electric drill and a Stihl chainsaw were stolen after vandals cut the padlock from a shed door in Calton Lees, Beeley.

The incident took place overnight between 6pm on Friday, November 27 and 12.30pm the following day.

Following the incidents, officers from the Tideswell, Litton, Baslow and Beeley Safer Neighbourhood Team are urging residents to check the security of their sheds, garages and outbuildings.

Anyone with any information about the above incidents is asked to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference 51284 for the Baslow theft and 51547 for the Beeley one.
