Police have released more details about a crash near Chesterfield this morning.

Officers received reports of a collision on Williamthorpe Road, North Wingfield, just before 11am.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said at 2.30pm: “One car was involved and both ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene.

“The road was closed due to a lamp post coming down on to the road.

“No injuries were reported.

“The driver arranged for the recovery of their vehicle.”

The road was reopened at around 3.30pm.
