Picture is a winner at railway awards

The ‘Cromford Challenge Teams Unite’ photograph, taken by Sarah Wyatt during the East Midlands Trains gardening challenge at Cromford Station in conjunction with the Derwent Valley Community Rail Partnership, was given the top prize at the Community Rail Awards.

In May 2013, the Cromford Challenge between East Midlands Trains Directors and the Derby station management team led to the tidying up and planting of several areas along the station entrance road.

Emma Knight, Stagecoach group head of media and public affairs, said: “The Community Rail Partnerships across our rail network do a fantastic job in helping us to attract more people onto the rail network and delivering some very worthwhile practical improvements to station and train facilities.”

The awards are run by the Association of Community Rail Partnerships.
