Picture gallery of Chesterfield bridge's anti-suicide '˜messages of hope'
The initiative was launched by local woman Lauren Clifton, who struggles with mental health issues and considered jumping off the same bridge following the death of her best friend.
Lauren said: ““I don’t want people to think that their only escape is suicide and being in that place is very dark and lonely.

Since Lauren launched the project a few weeks ago, more insprational quotes and details on where to seek help have appeared on the bridge, tied with brightly coloured ribbon.
The idea now seems to be gaining traction as similar messages pop up on bridges in other towns and cities across the country.
