The record of inquest says: “On July 5, 2019 Zowie Wareing, aged 35, died at her home address from the effects of a number of opiate and other medications upon which she had been dependent for some time despite the efforts of herself and those around her to reduce her addiction.

"She had obtained some of the medication on a non-prescription basis from third parties.

"She had a past medical history of morbid obesity, alcohol dependence, depression and a painful and incurable skin condition.”

Recording a verdict that the death was drug-related, coroner Kathryn Hayes passed on her condolences to Zowie’s family.
