Where your donations at Chesterfield Tesco store ended up during coronavirus crisis

More than 3,500 packets of food, toiletries and other items were left at collection points at the Tesco store on Lockoford Lane.
They have now been distributed to Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Walton Hospital, Ashgate Hospicecare, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, Derbyshire police, the town’s ambulance station and several care homes.

Hide AdItems were delivered by the store’s community champions, Jane Clavin and Karen Pearson, and volunteers from the store’s team of delivery drivers.
The idea for the colection points came from Julie Glossop, who works for the British Standard Institute, and Sarah Sodden, from the Royal Mail.
John Coddington, grocery manager, said: “We would like to thank all our customers who donated items for their generosity and it is nice to show them where their donations went.”
