Wetherspoon's plans to re-open all its pubs 'in or around June' after shutdown

The company has tonight said it is putting in place plans to have its large chain of pubs and hotels open again and said its bars could start to re-open within weeks.

Hide AdIt comes despite the country remaining on lockdown, with the Government yet to outline its exit plans.


The pub chain's boss, Tim Martin, has been highly critical of the lockdown measures, describing restrictions as "over the top".
He also suggested, in the early days of the outbreak, that there had "hardly been any transmission of the virus within pubs".
Pubs, bars and restaurants across the UK have been closed since 20 March.
