Anthony Parsons’ single 'Rise Above It All' is raising funds for the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal and the Care Workers Charity.

The video includes footage and photographs sent in by key workers from across the UK as well as Bolsover firefighters, police officers and care home staff.

Anthony said the music video was initially going to be based on an actor and ‘the daily life of a person in quarantine’.

“But then we thought it should be more personal,” he said. “So we started contacting various different people, hospitals, fire stations, police stations and care homes, the people on the frontline.

“We got a massive response. My wife is a care worker at Cherry Tree House care home in Clowne and they sent in some footage, with TikToks of the staff and that sort of stuff.

“We wanted it to be fun and personal for people even though it is dark times at the moment.”

A key part was also played by Suffolk firefighter Mark Cowling, who helped Anthony and his manager, Paul Yates, convince emergency workers from around the country to send clips of them clapping for the NHS to use in the video.

Anthony said: “It took hours to put it all together with the song but when we had done, we thought it was something really special.

“We have had a good team involved and a lot of people have sent in clips. It has been a fantastic experience. We’ve had a great response on Facebook.

“We’re not a big team, we’re a small team but we’ve made it work and people seem really happy with it.

“I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to it, bought it, watched it or shared it.”

The song has been named as 'Track of The Week' by BBC Radio Derby and has received widespread radio play.
