Two drunk drivers kept police officers busy at Belper

The Derbsyhire Roads Policing Unit posted on Twitter an interesting image of the foreground and background of the scene they found themselves were attending after a drunk driver had cashed his car into a public house.

As the officers dealt with the matter, another driver also then caught the policing unit’s attention when a vehicle almost crashed into a number of parked cars. The driver was then breathalysed and arrested.

The police unit’s Tweet, and photograph, in the early hours of Saturday, describes the scene as it happened and reads: “Belper. Foreground: reopening the road following a drink driver crashing his car into a pub.

"Background: another drink driver who came to our attention by riding the rev limiter, and almost crashing into parked vehicles. Blows 111 on the roadside. Arrested.”
