Thieves swoop on vehicles in Grassmoor, Pilsley, Barlborough, Creswell

A spate of vehicle crimes in north Derbyshire has sparked a police warning to drivers to step up security.

Thieves have raided cars to steal sat navs and two Land-Rovers have been stolen.A white Seat Ibiza was broken into and a sat nav stolen while it was parked in Gill Lane, Grassmoor, between 9.45pm on Monday, February 2 and 10am the next day.

A sat nav was stolen from a glovebox, along with a dashboard camera, from a Vauxhall Adam when it was parked on the driveway of a home in Parkhouse Road, Lower Pilsley, at around 6.15am on Saturday, February 6.

In Creswell a grey Land Rover Discovery was stolen from Laburnum Close between 5pm on February 9 and 8am the next day.

And in Barlborough a Land Rover Discovery was stolen from Church Street between 7pm on February 8 and 7.30am the following day.

Police are increasing patrols across the area and are urging residents to report anyone that is acting suspiciously or an unfamiliar car in the road.

To keep vehicles and possessions safe, officers advise:
