The fallen are remembered in Chesterfield Remembrance service

Members of the Royal British Legion and town leaders gathered at the Rose Hill War Memorial to remember the fallen today (Sunday).

Against the backdrop of the town hall draped in a curtain of poppies wreathes were laid as they honoured those who fell during the Great War.

This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions the ceremony – conducted by Reverend Patrick Coleman – was open only to invited guests.

Members of the public were asked to remain at home – paying their respects privately.
