Revealed: The areas of Chesterfield with the slowest broadband speeds - with six among the worst in the UK

The areas of Chesterfield with the slowest broadband speeds have been revealed in new data released by the House of Commons.

Data shows the variations in broadband availability and speeds across Derbyshire – which has average download speeds varying from well over the UK average to less than half.

The area with the highest gigabit broadband availability is Dronfield South and Gosforth Lane, in North East Derbyshire at 89.6 per cent. Gigabit availability in the UK as a whole is 26.7 per cent.The area with the lowest superfast broadband availability is Ashbourne North, Dovedale and Carsington in Derbyshire Dales, at 74.8 per cent. Superfast availability in the UK as a whole is 94.9 per cent.The area with the highest average download speed is Aston-on-Trent and Barrow-upon-Trent in South Derbyshire at 123.5 Mbps.

And the area with the lowest average download speed is Ambergate, Heage and Idridgehay, in Amber Valley, at 33.6 Mbps. The average download speed in the UK as a whole is 72.9 Mbps.
