Barrow Hill Roundhouse is welcoming back enthusiasts from around the country this August bank holiday.

The popular railway museum is hosting a brand-new event – Bricks in the Roundhouse – on August 29 and August 30.

The event celebrates the 60th anniversary of Lego© Trains with designs from every era, and the largest number of railway-themed displays ever seen at a UK bricks event.

In total, there will be 43 different displays with themes including Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney and Ted Lasso, some of which have never been seen on the brick exhibition circuit before. All the displays, including one more than 100 feet in length, will be set up in the Roundhouse and brand new Innovation Centre building, creating an atmospheric and unique backdrop for the show.

There will also be collaboration builds – “Platforms of Possibilities” and “Brickettes Women of STEM” – creating one of the largest brick shows in the UK this year.

Activities to look out for include:

- A free Activity Trail around the Roundhouse and Innovation Centre.

- Mini-figure Hunt (£1-a-go) with a special prize for the winner drawn at end of the event, with all proceeds going to the Air Ambulance charity.

- Free children’s activities, including a speed build and ramp racing.

As well as the brick layouts, there will be plenty of real railway action with train rides up the Springwell branch line and turntable and signal box demonstrations. There will also be a display of steam rollers for visitors to enjoy, plus trade stands, food and drink and plenty of free parking.

Tickets are available from https://www.seetickets.com/tour/bricks-in-the-roundhouse-2026. Tickets will also be available on the gate.

Ticket prices: Adults £15 and children £12 or on the day adults £17 and children £14.
