Pictures as firefighters tackle 'deliberate' blaze beneath Bolsover Castle

Crews from Bolsover Fire Station revealed they were called to the same location to put out hay fires within a couple of hours.

They say the fires were lit deliberately and will prove costly for the farmer.

The station said in a statement: “Bolsover crew was mobilised to a bail of hay on fire below the castle.

"The crew worked hard to extinguish the fire using buckets, water back pack and drag forks.

"Unfortunately the crew was re-mobilised to another fire in the same location a couple of hrs later, this time the fire was bigger involving more hay.

"Sadly we believe these to have been started deliberately and will affect the farmers livelihood.

"Please stay safe everyone,” crews posted on Facebook.
