Logan, 14, died at Sheffield Children’s Hospital after being rescued from the Chesterfield Canal by emergency teams.
The opening of Logan’s inquest heard he was trying to save one of his friends from the water when they got into difficulty in the canal at Staveley on August 18.

Logan’s funeral, which is being organised by Harold Lilleker & Sons, will take place on Saturday, September 11 at 11am at Staveley Methodist Church, followed by a burial at Staveley Cemetery.
The funeral directors said Logan had lived in Chesterfield all his life, attending Speedwell Infants School, Staveley Junior School, Springwell and Hasland Support Centre.
“His hobbies and interests included motocross bikes, riding his push bike and electric scooter, being outdoors, spending time with friends and family both on holidays and at parties,” they added.
