Plane spotters will keep their eyes on the Derbyshire skies in the hope of spotting the famous Red Arrows this weekend.

The Royal Air Force’s iconic Aerobatics Team is due to fly over the county on Sunday evening with a flightpath map showing that there is good chance of seeing the Red Arrows above Ambergate and Somercotes between 6.34pm and 6.41pm.

The aircraft will be flying over Mansfield as they travel from RAF Shawbury in Shrewsbury to RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.

In the 60th anniversary year of the Red Arrows, the aircraft are displaying special artwork on the side and tail fin which includes outlines of two Red Arrow Hawk jets trailing patriotic colours.
