New test centre to open in town with coronavirus cases among the highest in Derbyshire
A new coronavirus community testing centre is to open in Dronfield for four weeks.
The facility will be located at the rear cark park of Dronfield Civic Centre, off Farwater Lane, from Monday until May 15.
It will be open from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays.
A Derbyshire County Council spokesperson said: “Cases in the Dronfield area are among the highest in Derbyshire – although nowhere near where they have been – so we are keen to get as many people in the town tested as possible.
“One in three of those with coronavirus have no symptoms, so get tested to see if that is you and protect your family and friends.”
Community test centres are designed for people who are not suffering from Covid-19 symptoms – in an attempt to identify those who are carrying the virus without necessarily being aware.
