Men ‘tried to steal moped at knifepoint’ at Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Men have been trying to steal mopeds at knifepoint in the Chesterfield area.

On Tuesday, police from the North East Derbyshire Response team said they received a 999 call about two men trying to steal a moped at knifepoint in Clowne.

They received a further call reporting the same crime at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

A spokesperson for the team said: “Derbyshire armed response unit and police dogs attended and detained two males on suspicion of robbery.”

At this stage, no further details have been released by police.
