Crossing Cottage Greyhound Sanctuary is a small, independent charity located in Sutton-on-Trent, , established to ensure the long-term welfare of greyhounds after their retirement from racing.
To encourage more people in the East Midlands, to adopt one of the dogs, the rescue organisation will host an open morning on Monday, April 21, from 9-11am.
This event presents a great opportunity for visitors to stop by the kennels, learn more about greyhounds and the work at Crossing Cottage, and meet some of the dogs available for adoption. No appointment is necessary.
For more information on any of the dogs featured, please visit rgteastmidlands.co.uk or email [email protected]
Here are some of the greyhounds looking for a new home…

5. Coco
Coco is a calm and gentle greyhound, known as the kennel "baby-sitter" who helps new hounds settle in. She gets along well with both male and female dogs and can be homed with a resident hound after successful introductions. Coco enjoys her walks and is well-behaved on a lead, though she has a strong prey drive to keep in mind. She would thrive in a calm household where she can receive love and attention. If you think Coco could be the perfect fit for you, please reach out. Photo: Karen Turner Nash/Crossing Cottage

6. Bruce
Bruce is a sensitive and affectionate greyhound who has gained confidence with the help of our staff and volunteers. He is sociable with other greyhounds but prefers to be an only dog as he doesn't like sharing his kennel. Bruce would thrive in a calm, peaceful home with patient owners. He would love a garden to run in and would benefit from long, quiet walks. He truly deserves a loving home of his own. Photo: Karen Turner Nash/Crossing Cottage

7. Armani
Armani is a sweet and sensitive greyhound in need of a loving home. He was returned after just two days because his adopters couldn't provide the time he needed to adjust. Armani thrives with a kind, confident female hound and can also do well as an only dog with the right family. He enjoys walks but can be reactive towards other dogs. With patience and gentle exposure, this behaviour can improve. Ultimately, Armani is affectionate and will bring joy to a caring family once settled in. Photo: Karen Turner Nash/Crossing Cottage
