Meet Christmas Day babies born at Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Amy Love, 25, and her partner Aaron Mullen, 24, of Bolsover, welcomed their daughter Isla Saint Mullen-Love at 4.25am.

She was 11 days early and weighed 6lb 4oz.

Amy said: “We’re so, so proud.

“She was the perfect Christmas present.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all the staff at the hospital’s birth centre – they were absolutely tremendous with us.”

Laura Fluks was born at 5.07am, weighing 8lb 4oz.

Her parents, 36-year-old Agnieszka Fluks and 41-year-old Dariusz Fluks, are overjoyed.

“We couldn’t be happier,” said Agnieszka, from Shirebrook.

And at 3.59pm came George Dennis Thurman.

Weighing 9lb 1oz, he was born to parents Natalie Thurman, 32, and Ashley Thurman, 33, of Shirland.

Ashley said: “He’s a lovely, healthy baby boy and mum was amazing.

“We’re incredibly proud.”

They also hailed the ‘first-class service’ provided by staff at the birth centre
