Matlock Bath visitor attraction The Heights of Abraham on top of the world after winning TripAdvisor award

Derbyshire tourist destination The Heights of Abraham has won a major award which puts it in the top tier of attractions around the globe.

The Matlock Bath business is a 2021 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award winner for attractions worldwide.

Rupert Pugh, development director at the Heights of Abraham said: “We are delighted to win the Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice award for 2021, putting the Heights in the top 10% of attractions across the world. It is especially welcome during these challenging times when our team has worked so very hard to keep our guests inspired, informed and entertained.

The Heights of Abraham is now fully open, inside and outside until October 31. The 60-acre estate is accessed by a cable car journey across the Derwent Valley high above Matlock Bath. The estate comprises two guided tours through show caverns, indoor exhibitions, adventure playgrounds, landscaped grounds and woodland walks.

A Celebration of Food and Drink, running at the Heights from September 25 to October 10, will feature special dishes in the restaurant, treats in the cafe, the return of the gin bar and live music on the patio.

Halloween October Half Term fun, from October 24 to 31, will give young visitors an opportunity to meet the White Witch in her enchanted grotto, shudder at scarecrow displays and discover other seasonal tricks and treats.
