'Magical' wedding day for Chesterfield couple after year's postponement

A couple finally had their perfect wedding after the big day was postponed for a year by the Covid pandemic.

Kayley and Ben Crawford were married at Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham, in a ceremony attended by 30 guests.

"It couid not have been a more perfect day,” said Kayley (nee Merrick). “It was so wonderful to finally celebrate with our friends and family, a truly magical day with memories that we will treasure forever.”

Kayley was walked down the aisle by her father Craig Merrick, watched by her mum Sandra and partner John Tingay and Ben’s parents Mike and Claire Crawford.

The big day coincided with the tenth wedding anniversary of Kayley’s dad and stepmum Christine.

Maid of honour Lauren Tomlinson, Abbie Dixon, Sarah Allen, Miranda Gage were the bridesmaids. Anthony Little was the best man.

Kayley spent the night before the wedding staying in a cottage at the manor with her bridesmaids. Ben drove to the wedding venue from the hotel where he was staying.

A week after their big day, the couple, both 28, had a ‘mini-moon’ in St Ives, Cornwall. Kayley said: “We hope to go on our full honeymoon in December – a cruise along the coast of Norway to see the Northern Lights!”

Ben and Kayley, who are both from Chesterfield, have been together for ten years and met through mutual friends at school. He is a junior automation engineer and she is a business analyst.

The newly-weds have made their home in Brampton, Chesterfield, where they have just bought a house.
