Chesterfield RSPCA currently have 16 dogs who are looking for new owners. Two of them were rescued from appalling living conditions and a third was saved by a kindly motorist who spotted it dodging traffic.

Bella is a six-year-old French bulldog who is worried when she first meets people but once she feels comfortable with them she is very friendly and lots of fun. She is happy to be left on her own for short periods. Bella, who has an ongoing medical condition, would prefer to live in an adult-only household in a quiet home and will need an experienced owner. Fred is a two-year-old male Staffy cross who is soft and friendly. His primary carer calls him a baby as his nature remains that of a pup. Bright spark Fred is very clever and is stranger friendly. Polly, a West Highland terrier, is nine years and six months old. Her skin is blackened, coarse and patchy, she becomes grouchy if her face or her belly are touched and she is partially deaf.
