Killamarsh tragedy: Man charged with four murders after deaths of woman and three children

A man has been charged with four counts of murder after the deaths of a woman and three children in Killamarsh.

Officers were called to concerns for safety of those at a house on Chandos Crescent at around 7.25am on Sunday.

They found the bodies of 35-year-old Terri Harris, her daughter Lacey Bennett, 11, and son John Paul Bennett, 13, and Lacey’s friend Connie Gent, also 11.

On Wednesday morning, Derbyshire Constabulary confirmed that Damien Bendall, of Chandos Crescent, Killamarsh, had been charged with four counts of murder.

The 31-year-old is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning.
