Killamarsh tragedy: Floral tributes laid and school closed after ‘heartbreaking’ events

Police were called to concerns for safety of those at a property on Chandos Crescent at around 7.25am on Sunday.

A man was subsequently arrested in connection with the four people’s deaths in what officers describe as an ‘isolated incident’.

Floral tributes are being placed in the town as people speak of their shock at the ‘heartbreaking’ events and offer their condolences to the victims’ loved ones.

Meanwhile, a Sheffield school is closed on Monday over what it has described as a ‘tragic incident’ involving three students. It is understood the closure relates to the events in Killamarsh.

Outwood Academy City in Stradbroke informed parents and carers of the decision to close the school on Monday morning.

In a tweet, the school said: “It is with great sadness that the academy will be closed (on Monday).

“A tragic incident has taken place in the community involving three of our students.

“We will however be open to any students who need our support.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this sad news.

“We are working with the police and are unable to give more information at this time.”
