The event, which took place at Eastwood Park, also included the popular fun dog show.
Chesterfield Garland Dancers put on a display for the crowds and other entertainment included live music, refreshments and a visit from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The gala also marked the unveiling of Eastwood Park’s new play train. The wooden train was officially brought into service by the Mayor, Jenny Flood and Mayoress, Heather Hopkinson.
