Eight-year-old Freya Hill, of Tiree Close, Tibshelf, made a selection of colourful key rings, bookmarks, wands, bracelets and fridge magnets.

She put her items on a picnic blanket at the bottom of her drive and friends and neighbours visited and donated in return for one of her creations.

Big-hearted Freya has now raised £590 for NHS Charities Together.

Her parents Rachel and Andrew said: “We would like to say how proud we are of Freya.

“She asked us if she could make things to help raise money for the NHS and to try and help people to see their families sooner.

“She worked so hard on creating all of the items.

“We would also like to thank everyone who has donated as the amount raised has been much more than we were expecting which Freya is delighted with.”

Creative Freya has had a few requests to make some more items for people so the family is expecting her to raise a little more than £590.

NHS Charities Together is a federation of more than 250 charitable organisations which support the NHS, its staff, volunteers and patients across the UK.

Last month, NHS Charities Together announced that it had raised £100million through its Covid-19 appeal in six weeks.
