Here’s how much Derbyshire Dales MP has claimed in expenses

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority figures for the 2020-21 financial year shows that UK MPs have claimed more than £9 million as of January 6.

The JPIMedia Data Unit has analysed the figures to find out how much has been claimed by MPs across the country, including the biggest and most unusual expenses.

Sarah Dines, the Conversative MP for Derbyshire Dales, has spent £10,812.38 on 36 claims so far this year.

Her biggest expense has been for office costs, with £9,758.33 spent.

Among her claims was £948 for advertising and business cards, £1,200.86 for office equipment and £900 on software.

Mrs Dines said: “Any expense claims I have made have been in line with the instructions set out by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.”

Imran Ahmad-Khan, the Conservative MP for Wakefield, has been revealed as the highest ranking MP for spending.

He has spent £45,696 on 63 claims so far this year and his biggest expense has been office costs, with £34,473.52 spent.

Some of the more unusual claims include James Sunderland, the Conservative MP for Bracknell, who spent £450 on a constituency bible, Peter Bone, the Conservative MP for Wellingborough, spent £318 on a frosted window film to windows, Simon Fell, the Conservative MP for Barrow and Furness, spent £100 on the clearing of weeds and overgrown foliage in the backyard, and the disinfecting of the yard and smoking area, David Davis, the Conservative MP for Haltemprice and Howden, spent £115 on the online writing tool, Grammarly, Stuart Anderson, the Conservative MP for Wolverhampton South West, spent £60.42 on Grammarly spelling software, Shabana Mahmood, the Labour MP for Birmingham Ladywood, spent £43.52 on a footrest, Sarah Olney, the Liberal Democrat MP for Richmond Park, spent £40.97 on a plant, pot and soil for the office, and Jane Stevenson, the Conservative MP for Wolverhampton North East, spent £9.98 on two toilet roll holders.
