Katie Williams Morgan, 48, and Hayley Woodhouse, 47, will take part in a 5k walk in the town on Tuesday to raise money for the charity.

The women live in accommodation provided by the Thera Trust, a charity which provides support for people with learning disabilities across England.

Katie White, who works with the pair, said: “We as a team are so proud of the ladies for doing this.

“They have been training for the walk throughout lockdown for around four months.

“Both Katie and Hayley have lost two stone in weight while training which has helped with their walking.

“They will be dressed in pink on the walk and are really looking forward to doing it.

“We’d like to wish them good luck.”

One in two people will get cancer in their lifetime.

Cancer Research UK conducts research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and its work is almost entirely funded by the public.

With the coronavirus pandemic dominating life at the moment, the charity is reminding members of the public that it is vitally important they contact their doctor if they have any possible signs or symptoms of cancer.

Common cancer symptoms include bladder and bowel changes, the sudden appearance of a lump and bleeding or bruising for no known reason.
