Steve Perez said he wanted to do something to thank the town’s NHS employees during these difficult times.

Those who take up the offer can enjoy a good night’s sleep at the four-star hotel on Lockoford Lane.

They will also have access to a mini bar and be treated to a hot meal and breakfast.

Mr Perez said: “Our NHS staff are doing an exceptional job during these unprecedented times.

“We’ve all got to try and do our bit to help wherever we can.

“I’ve got a big hotel which obviously isn’t open to members of the public right now so I wanted to use it to help treat NHS workers in Chesterfield.

“A number of staff who are currently not working at the hotel have volunteered to come in and make this possible.”

Frontline NHS staff in Chesterfield who would like to accept Mr Perez’s offer should email [email protected] or [email protected].

Mr Perez said these were ‘very difficult times’ for his businesses but added ‘we will get through it’.

He said 185 full-time staff – who work at Casa Hotel, Peak Edge Hotel and Global Brands – and 75 part-time staff – who work at the two hotels – have been ‘furloughed’. This is where firms allow or force someone to be absent temporarily from work.

The Government has announced a scheme to provide all businesses with wages for employees who are furloughed – something Mr Perez welcomed.
